Graduate Attributes
The holder of a Robotics and Autonomous Systems Engineering degree must be able to:
- Apply interdisciplinary knowledge integrating mechanical, electrical, electronic, software engineering, and artificial intelligence to develop intelligent robotic and autonomous systems.
- Design and innovate robust and efficient solutions for complex engineering challenges involving robotics and autonomous technologies, considering realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, ethical, social, health and safety, and manufacturability.
- Implement advanced analytical, computational, and simulation methods to effectively optimize, evaluate, and enhance robotic system performance.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using specialized software tools and state-of-the-art hardware essential for the design, development, and deployment of robotic and autonomous systems.
- Plan, manage, and execute comprehensive robotics and autonomous systems engineering projects individually or within multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating effective teamwork, leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Communicate effectively in professional and technical settings, clearly presenting complex information and solutions related to robotics and autonomous systems to diverse audiences.
- Engage in lifelong learning and continuous professional development to keep pace with technological advancements in robotics and autonomous systems engineering.
- Conduct research, critically evaluate existing methodologies, and develop innovative, practical solutions that advance knowledge and practices in robotics and autonomous systems engineering.
- Operate professionally, ethically, and responsibly, recognizing social, environmental, economic, and ethical implications associated with robotic and autonomous technologies.
- Apply engineering, mathematical, and scientific principles to analyze, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems related to robotics and autonomous systems, contributing positively to industrial, commercial, and societal advancements.
